In his newly published book, veteran New York Times reporter Steven Kinzer embraces the increasingly de rigueur view of those who like to consider themselves enlightened foreign policy thinkers to suggest that the United States ought to ditch Israel as an ally. Specifically, he argues that Turkey and Iran would make better allies for the United States in the Middle East than would Israel and Saudi Arabia. Kinzer’s argument is that Turkey and Iran both have partial democracies and would be better placed to ensure stability in the region. But his view is decisively refuted by the radicalized nature of both the Turkish and Iranian governments. Just as Turkish and Iranian domestic policies are antithetical to Western ideals, Turkish and Iranian foreign policies are antithetical Western security interests. In overlooking the personal deficiencies of Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Kinzer risks propagating a distinctly inaccurate image of leaders he would have the United States rely on to advance American security interests and ideals. This turning of a blind eye to Erdogan’s and Ahmadinejad’s shortcomings as reformers—along with the West’s general inclination to overlook the anti-reform credentials of the alleged Malaysian reformer Anwar Ibrahim—will only serve to set back the cause of political and societal reform in the Muslim world.

by Ilan Weinglass Johns Hopkins University is demonstrating a disturbing pattern of awarding fellowships to Islamists with an avowedly anti-Western agenda. Mustafa El Khalfi, the Moroccan Islamist who was recently awarded a fellowship[1] at the university's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), is not the first. In March of 2005, SAIS granted a visiting fellowship to Anwar Ibrahim, a terror-supporting Malaysian Islamist whose Virginia-based organization apparently committed tax fraud in his benefit. On March 30, 2005, SAIS announced[2] that Ibrahim, the former deputy prime minister of Malaysia, was joining the university's Foreign Policy Institute, as a visiting scholar. Ibrahim was to "present seminars[3] on contemporary Southeast Asian politics, economic reform, Islam and democracy... [and] join in SAIS activities." The announcement by SAIS said that Ibrahim would also be working on "a project examining democratization in the Muslim world." While SAIS described him "as a strong advocate for civil society, economic liberalization, moderate Islam and democratic governance," publicly available evidence shows the opposite. A quick glance at his website[4] reveals a prominently featured photo of Ibrahim together with Yusuf Qaradawi, a leading Islamist scholar who is associated[5] with the Muslim Brotherhood and supports HAMAS, and who recently issued a fatwa calling for the Islamic conquest of Europe.[6]

The public is well aware of Anwar’s main political strategy that is to accuse someone else of something that he himself is doing.
Convicted of corruption, Anwar is used to certain strategies all his political life but he accused that someone else of doing it, though. The last time he tried this in an UMNO AGM, he was answered with a list of companies on his benefactors list.
Apparently, he had even once ‘worshiped’ a, and yet he even accused Najib of practicing Hinduism (and who can forget the doctored photos of Najib in a Hindu carb?)
He works together with the Zionists, but he accused the government of doing so through APCO. He accuses UMNO leaders of lying but instead he has shown his ability to 'switch' facts from truths according to his audience.
He accused Tun Dr. Mahathir as the main conspirator but in actual he was the one conspiring against Tun Dr. Mahathir since the very beginning.
There’s only one thing that Anwar won't accuse any UMNO leader of, that is sodomy because he knows that it isn’t easy for anybody to believe such accusations, or he wouldn’t have such number of supporters.

Khir Toyo was once criticized badly for presenting a broom, not to a witch, but to a municipality, Majlis Daerah Hulu Selangor particularly to the YDP for not doing his job well enough. The incident resulted in widespread condemnation against Khir Toyo for not showing respect to a government officer.
Today, Lim Guan Eng having not learned from Khir’s lesson is widely condemning if not insulting Nik Ali Nik Yunus, a State Development Officer of alleged illegal sand mining in Balik Pulau, the demolition of arches in Penang Botanical Gardens and for not providing a seat for him during the launch of Penang Hill Railway.
Surely matters pertaining to state offcials has it's time and place. Guan Eng may accuse Nik Ali of anything and Nik Ali could always defend and explain himself without anybody having to cry out in the open.
As a Chief Minister, he could have handled it with more tact and composure and settle things amicably with Nik Ali. These are not national issues, they are state’s issues and should be confined to the state. In fact., there is really nothing political about it.

The recent barrage of attacks against Anwar for his anti-semitics stance has now taken on a new low for journalism.
Though it has been reported in the western media on Anwar's about turn, and his many attempts to apologise and explain his statement and actions, there are yet some who see it fit to twist and spin his fault the other way.
The latest is from Huffington Post, in which Thor Halvorssen described Malaysia as an ' one of the world’s most insidious authoritarian governments' whilst describing the sodomy trial of Anwar as 'charges against Anwar are transparently political'.

Huffington Post, had done its best to help ‘repair’ Anwar’s image in the west. Sadly, the only help that it can offer to a guilty man is to lie on his behalf. It is understandable though, as the only way to make a guilty man looks innocent is by attacking the law itself.
By publishing unbalanced articles and pure lies, Huffington Post hopes that Anwar’s friends in the west would be relieved. But the only problem in helping Anwar is that you have to choose whether to please his friends in the west, or to please his supporters back home.
If the media chose to portray Anwar as a liberal Muslim and a perfect puppet to please his master, his supporters will start believing that he is indeed a tool of the west. If they chose to make Anwar look like devout Muslim and emphasize the fact that Anwar did criticize Zionists aggression, Anwar supporters would be relieved and in fact, might gain stronger support from PAS too – but, his masters in the west wouldn’t be happy.

Alhamdulillah, syukuran if the UMNO and PAS talks becomes a reality and unity is the topic of discussion. The news will certainly bring a new dawn for the Malays, currently divided and weak.
UMNO has always been open for discussions to unite with PAS. But thus far, only PAS has set various reasons and conditions preempting the talks.
In a similar effort, Muhyiddin sincerely announced that UMNO is ever ready for the talks but Nik Aziz has again imposed conditions for UMNO to change it's party policies to align itself with the struggles for Islam if it was to happen.
It is strange why Nik Aziz did not gave any conditions to DAP and PKR for their alliance in Pakatan Rakyat.
Nik Aziz certainly did not give any condition for the 'piously challenged' to joined PAS.

The days when Members of Parliament could debate openly without being fearful of what they say is truly gone.
Time has changed and whatever that's said in the August house will be recorded through a CCTV whilst newspapers and television will also report about it. Portals, blogs, Facebook and Twitter are also pat of the tools where ordinary Joes can now access in real time what is transpiring there.
However, there are still Membesr of Parliament who are not used to the changes and in their blissful ignorance, continue to spew out rubbish. The situation happened in Parliament recently when Titiwangsa Member of Parliament (PAS) Dr Lo'lo Mohamad Ghazali blamed the police's general operation force (GOF) in connection with the sand theft case in Selangor.
Lo'lo apparently thought that the GOF are only dispatched to protect foreign embassies and the country's borders. For having that thought, Lo'lo had condemned the Federall government for not assigning the GOF to curb sand theft in Selangor.

The government had recently announced the rationalization of subsidies in order to prepare the country for possible future economic challenges.
The rationalization of subsidies is being well accepted by Malaysians, though not without sighs. Malaysians understanding of the global economic challenges and it's risks is proof that the people have arrived at a certain level of maturity and is on the right path towards first world mentality.

Four UMNO Terengganu state assemblyman did not show up at the Setiu branch representative conference which was launched by the party deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin several days back.
Ramlan Ali from Jabi, Abd Halim Jusoh from Permaisuri, Asha'ari Idris from Langkap and Khazan Che Mat from Batu Rakit should be ashamed of their disrespectful attitude especially when UMNO in Terrengganu is experiencing a leadership crisis.
Terengganu can anytime fall into the hands of PAS again.
Due to some problems, the four had distanced themselves from the gathering and the camaraderie and brotherhood that UMNO is long known for had indeed felt their absence.
Muhyiddin had come all the way from Putrajaya but the four ignored his presence as their sign of protest.

Didn't it surprise you? For a man with his political desire to reject the post he so hardly fought for, what is the story behind KJ's offer to not contest for the Youth Head in the next UMNO election?
To most, his announcement could not come any sooner, in fact, their wish is for him to leave the party now.
For sure UMNO secretary-general Tengku Adnan will wait at his office for the resignation letter.
People will look up and respect UMNO Youth again with KJ's resignation. The movement will be strong again, lament one party member.

The sand issue had worsened and it has now gone beyond the Selangor government's power to rectify it. With the latest revelations, businesses controlled by Chinese gangsters have gone about continuing the rape of the land, under the protection of DAP.
The recent revelations of illegal sand mining around the Dengkil area has proven just that, the inability or the lack of wanting to enforce the law. The Paya Indah wetlands has now become collateral damage.
On Monday, the Selangor State goverment panicked and chased out a BN assemblyman from the hall when he raised the issue of illegal sand mining, because of the inundated calls about it.

MCA's vice president Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai commonly referred to as 'Donald Duck' in cyberspace, proposed the formation of a chinese version of PERKASA, apparently to counter attacks from the Malay NGO, Perkasa.
Donald also proposed that the group should be led by Kuala Lumpur Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH) who frequently voice the demands of the Chinese community.
He said that Chinese community should not worry about Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa (PERKASA) because they can also form such group, proposing that a chinese led NGO take on the roles as to what Perkasa had done for the Malay community.
What is the motive of Donald's suggestion?

Anwar's trip to prison is around the corner after strategies and tactics of the opposition backfired leading him to fall into his very own trap.
Anwar is fast turning desperate, and had resorted to bowing yet again to his financial masters, the Jewish community. His anti-sematic calls had certainly not gone down well with his friends.
His apologies? Having gone round the mulberry bush umpteenth time, surely his Jewish friends can tell that he is merely trying to woo them again as he really needs the money that they have been dishing out, clearly evidenced from his chairmanship at the Foundation of the Future (whose future? Anwar's..of course!), yet all he could do was to say sorry for linking APCO and Israel.
It is difficult to debate with those bordering stupidity, arrogance and insanity, the likes of those in PKR and Raja Petra Kamaruddin (RPK).
It's like Bush Jr versus Michael Moore.

By Lebah Kota Recently, P Balasubramaniam had made yet another statement from London alleging that Abdul Razak Baginda was innocent in the killing of Mongolian woman Altantuya Shaariibuu. Isn't that obvious? Didn't the court find the same for Baginda too?
Who is the real killer? The answer is Balasubramaniam.
How? According to police investigation papers, Abdul Razak had handed RM50,000 to Bala in cash to be handed to Altantuya in order to stop her from contacting him (Baginda) again.
What really happened? In my summise, Bala had grown greedy and as money is never enough, the Rm50k did not reached the hands of Altantuya. The money was supposed to be handed over to Altantuya at the hotel she was staying but Bala had instead took the money for himself.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had allegedly paid for his interview to be aired on Cable News Network (CNN) recently in his efforts to convince the Jewish community that he is not anti sematic as claimed by them.
Anwar has always been consistent to react the way he saw fit no matter the consequences to chieve his dream of becoming Malaysia's Prime Minister! Even if it meant that he had to pay for it, let alone kneel! The word shame simply does not exist in his vocabulary.
Surprisingly, the statement was not made by UMNO members but by Trevino Strategies and Media Inc. president Joshua Trevino.
Trevino said Anwar had used his friends in CNN to rebuild his image in the eyes of the world. Trevino added that questions in the interview were planned in order for Anwar to win back the support of the Jewish community, severly damaged by B'nai Br'ith and New Ledger, two very audible voices in the faith.
